AVA’S SEIZURES
Yes, Dillon does alert to most seizures well in advance, anywhere between 10 minutes to one hour! It’s interesting, because the seizures that she alerts to the most enthusiastically are these odd, euphoria-type seizures, that are relatively new for Ava. (we call them “happy bloomers”seizures!)
Ava becomes unusually happy and giddy, and begins to get chattier than usual; but, Dillon alerts to these 100% of the time, and always about 13 minutes just before Ava becomes chatty and the seizure starts. These are, by far, the least disruptive and scary of all of Ava’s seizures, but for some reason, Dillon really is on heightened alert for these. Each time Dillon has alerted, we have been able to get Ava to a safe place where she could be monitored more carefully, avoiding a fall or other injury. Exactly our goal!
