We have created an amended Training Progression protocol and have charted it. As a result of conversations during our 2012 Workshop, we have identified Tests A and B as Introductions to Odor rather than tests. As a result, only ONE session of Intro A is required. On Intro B, one session is required, but a second session may be conducted at the handler's discretion.
When introducing a totally new biological odor, the second session is recommended. When testing formerly tested odor, the option may be exercised.
During the Workshop we discussed the introduction of a Ritual. (See the Amended Training Progression chart).

A third addition to the SAP has to do with collection and storage of sample.
The most recent sample collected from donors of other biological sample was collected using dental cotton for collecting saliva sample, stored and shipped in 10ml plastic test tubes.
The sample in the photo above is Low Blood Glucose sample (LowBG). The sample in the front was collected during a low event. The BG level was 56. The sample at the rear is a "non-event" sample, collected during a normal BG level, 103. The tube is further noted as NE (non-event).
The dental cotton appears to be more comfortable in the mouth...at least for a T1 diabetic. The gauze pad or cotton square may still be the most effective method of a second person swabbing the mouth of a pre or post-ictal seizure donor.
